Where should I park?
There are multiple parking options, and none of them are located near the CHP building. Sorry!
- You can park for free in the Hagood Lot, but you must register to obtain a hang tag for this lot. The lot is first-come, first-served, and spots are not guaranteed. You will find it difficult to obtain a spot in this lot after 8:00am. Busses run from Hagood Lot and drop off by the Clinical Science Building on Jonathan Lucas Avenue on a regular basis. Busses run from 5:00am until approximately 12:30am, but after 6:30pm, the bus runs less often.
- Off Campus parking guarantees a parking spot, and is available for $75.00 per semester. These spots are limited, so register early. You will also ride the bus from these locations.
- The majority of on-campus parking is available in the Bee Street Parking Garage, at the corner of Bee and Courtney. The cost is $90.00 per semester, and no busses run from this location. While it looks like a pretty long walk, it really isn’t all that bad. And on rainy days, you can enter the main hospital over the emergency room and walk all the way into the CHP building through the second floor walkways. It’s also close to the gym.
After hours (4:30pm-8:30am Monday-Friday, 24 hours Saturday/Sunday) parking is available for students in the President Street Garage (labeled as Lot E on the campus map). The gate arms should be up during this time for entry and exit.
Students are prohibited from parking in garages/lots designated for patients. Please abide by this policy. Also note that if you try to park somewhere you are not supposed to, you will probably get caught! Parking management continuously checks hang tags/stickers, and the city parking attendants will ticket you for parking in a residential areas.
You will need to register for parking during orientation.
