Financial Aid Information

Your first step is to visit the MUSC Financial Aid website: http://www.musc.ed/em/financialmanagement.  This website offers information on what paperwork is required to complete your financial aid application.  The financial aid office will be your best resource for answering any specific questions you have regarding your financial aid situation.

We have included a few tips from current students:

  • Make a budget before you decide how much financial aid you will need.
    • Not everyone needs the maximum amount.
    • Make sure you budget in FUN STUFF!
    • Make sure to include diagnostic kits, books, etc in your budget. You don’t want to skimp on things that will really help you.
    • Factor in the Physician Assistant Program Fee (currently 700.00, but subject to change) for each semester.  This is on top of the tuition charge.
    • If you are enrolling in the student insurance, make sure to budget a couple hundred dollars for this each semester.
    • Be aware that you won’t get your financial aid until after the start of classes, so make sure you have enough savings to make it until then.
    • Know which loans are accruing interest while you are in school so that you can consider how you are going to pay them back.
